A Montessori Summer Camp 2009

• Session 1: Bugs by the Billions/ My World of Colors
• Session 2: Culinary Creations/Space Explorers
• Session 3: Mad Scientists/Making Music
• Session 4: Happily Ever After/Beach Life
• Session 5: Moving into Montessor

This summers camp program will provide children with a chance to learn, run, jump, play and create all summer long. Along with our strong Montessori base, our sessions will include yoga, stretch and grow, Spanish lessons and a hands-on approach to art, song and dance, physical fitness and dramatic play.

SESSION 1: JUNE 29TH-JULY 10TH 2009
Bugs by the Billions.
Let’s go on an adventure into the world of insects! We will discover what kinds of insects are out there, where they live, what they eat and how they survive. It may even be possible to go on a bug hunt and observe a few in our “bugnoculars!

My World of Colors
Looking for a way for your child to express his creativity this summer? “My world of colors” will allow your child to get creative both indoors and out. He will be encouraged to explore his artistic abilities and the possibilities of artistic expression.
 
SESSION 2: JULY 13TH-JULY 24TH
Culinary Creations
We will inspire your child’s imagination and encourage his creativity as he creates tasty delights, sumptuous delicacies and extraordinary dishes from around the world. He will experience the joys of hands on cooking while learning life skills.

Space Explorers
Come celebrate the International Year of Astronomy and the 400th anniversary of Galileo’s use of the telescope! We will explore the skies and  learn about planets, space suits, helmets and what is needed to live in outer space.

SESSION 3: JULY 27TH-AUGUST 7TH
Mad Scientists
It’s time to bring out the inner scientist! We will have fun exploring biology, chemistry, physics, and math. Both hands and minds will be working on a variety of science experiments.
 
Making Music
We will be busy exploring the world of music and making our own musical instruments. It is our hope that your child will gain a greater appreciation and love of music.

SESSION 4: AUGUST 10TH-AUGUST 21ST
Happily Ever After
Join us as we venture off to never, never land. We will tickle your child’s imagination with tales and adventures of the fantasy world. We will bring nursery rhymes and fairy tales to life!

Beach Life
Let’s dive into the underwater world and explore life at the bottom of the ocean. We will learn about the mysteries of the deep blue sea and the creatures and plants that live there.

SESSION 5: AUGUST 24TH-AUGUST 28TH
Moving Into Montessori
Moving into Montessori will be a wonderful introduction to the 2009-2010 school year. Your child will have an opportunity to explore the materials and familiarize him/herself with the Montessori classrooms environment. As well as learning their role in a Montessori classroom. For those children that have never been to school or are joining us after a long summer this is a great time for children to socialize with their peers and become familiar with the school.
